Greencal Foundation celebrated Valentine's Day by bringing hope to patients burdened with hospital bills. Our team began at FETHA One, where we discovered that the paediatrics ward was already supported by generous donors. Undeterred, we moved on to FETHA2. In the orthopaedic ward, we met a gentleman who had been hospitalized for over a year; we cleared his full bill, and he was finally discharged amid tears of gratitude. We also visited the female surgical ward, where we paid off the bill for a woman who had spent several challenging months in care, followed by a visit to the female medical ward and then the male medical ward—where a man’s dire situation was highlighted by his younger sister’s desperate efforts to raise funds.

Although our target was an ambitious ₦17,734,557, we raised ₦1,999,690.83—falling short of the goal, yet still making a significant impact. The emotional video footage from the day captured moments of raw, heartfelt gratitude as donors, patients, and their families expressed relief and hope. Men wept openly, and couples embraced as they witnessed the tangible difference that compassion can make, proving that even when the financial goal isn't met, the spirit of giving shines through.
In the end, our fundraiser accomplished far more than just a monetary achievement—it restored hope and eased the burden of hospital bills for those in need. While we may not have reached the financial target, every cleared bill, every tear of relief, and every shared smile reminded us that the true success of the day was measured in the lives we touched. We remain committed to this mission, knowing that the impact of our collective kindness goes beyond numbers.
